Note: Due to schedule conflicts, the essay evaluation service will be unavailable during the 2015-16 school year.

Daniel Maycock has been teaching & tutoring students in writing and composition since 2009. He has a B.A. in English from LaGrange College, where he won various intramural poetry awards, and earned his M.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College. He also teaches Literature and Composition at Memoria Press Online Academy.

My essay evaluation service provides specific feedback and a letter grade on submitted essays and writing assignments.  In each evaluation, I examine an essay in terms of content, structure, grammar, and style.

Essays and writing assignments are graded at the college-freshman level, although I will evaluate a student according to his or her grade upon request.

How it works:

Miniature of Jerome writing CROPPED1) You email me an essay along with the original essay prompt.

2) I read and grade the essay

  • offering solutions to structural problems and errors of logic,
  • correcting grammar,
  • suggesting stylistic improvements,
  • and finally assigning a letter grade. (I try to respond as quickly as possible, but please allow up to a week to receive the graded essay.)

Essay evaluation is available in three plans to best meet your needs. Multiple-submission plans may be shared within a family.
